Why I can’t vote the site probably isn’t working?

Mark,
I’m not sure why you’re not able to vote, as far as I know it’s been working fine. Perhaps try reloading the page a few times. It’s also possible that if anyone has voted from your computer already, it may not allow you to vote again.

I love the layout of # 8. It’s ideal for the handycap or elderly or even students. Everything is convenient..The design was very thought out..

After spending 6+ years studying the issues, impacts and solutions of over 50 million acres of dead forest in North American (and counting!, anyone not seeking to utilize standing dead timber is just not paying attention to the big picture as a whole. My thanks and vote to the ‘Beetle House’ for their efforts to utilize a tremendous natural resource that is simply going to waste! Come on ‘green’ people do your homework!

The Domain Squat design seems to be the one that is the closest to an actual physical structure versus the fact that most of the other designs are just conceptual in nature and do not have any practical construction criteria and thus there is the question as to the ability and feasibility of actually being able to build one of these units.
The development time to finally get one of those designs from this conceptual stage to an actual final product could translate to quite a long time to finally develop these into actual structures – could be a year or more, depending on how much capitol and talent is available.
The Domain Squat, on the other hand, has already done all of this development and could deliver a finished unit to someone’s doorstep in a couple of weeks. This may be something that people might want to point out to let people know that this is a real thing and not some drawing.

I have looked at ALOT of plans (not just on this website) and by far I thought Frank’s plan is the most realistic, livable and a beautiful home. You really were really thinking outside the box! I would love to have a copy, it would look awsome out here in Arizona.

You might also try loading the page in a different browser than the one you usually use. Sometimes that is a workaround for glitches like yours.

I’m surprised that No. 5 doesn’t have more votes. I admit that I didn’t vote for it either, but it’s definitely in my top 3 favourite designs. It could work very well as a vacation home or rental as well.
My vote went to No. 34 because it has a more spacious feel to it than most of the others, it looks practical and modern. A community of these, each painted a different colour, would make a wonderful addition to any residential area.
Another one of my favourites is design no. 24. While it probably isn’t easy to build and in practical application would probably not be permitted by the building code (wouldn’t the carport area be added to the overall footprint?), I like the almost whimsical design elements that make this house unique. I think it would be more enjoyable living in a tiny space that is aesthetically pleasing than living in a practical, but bleak space. That’s not to say that all the other designs are bleak – Most of the designs tried to incorporate appealing looks as well. It’s just that I kind of like the style of this one.

illegal vote .. not valid … start over. I’ve tried and tried to find the vote button although I’m told to scroll to the bottom of the 10 square entries page but it isn’t there. And I haven’t voted before, on any computer. And my browser is perfectly powerful.

In the end I shortlisted structures that I could build or easily see building with locally available material that would work well in our environment.
There are some great ideas but many of them looked really expensive to build and some were not suitable for our location.
It was a tough choice but I think Entry 20: Gabor Kelemen is my favourite but I almost had to close my eyes and point to pick one.
